Akshay Kumar definitely thinks so. The Desi Boyz actor recently claimed that he wants to make a film on the concept of Bigg Boss– only this one will be scripted like any other film
Fourteen actors will play characters stuck in a house for a TV show, till one of them is murdered. And then the quest begins to try and figure out who the murderer is before someone else gets hurt. It’s not a totally new concept – Dhund, Gumnaam and Khamosh have all had similar plotlines, but none of them revolve around a TV show. While we agree that Bigg Boss will make for interesting movie viewing, we also wonder which other reality show (except Kaun Banega Crorepati) can be translated on to the big screen…
Indian Idol / Just Dance: The perfect vehicle for a relative newcomer to play an underdog who against all odds goes on to become a singing/ dancing sensation. Maybe even add aboodhi maa, andhi behen (elderly mother, blind sister) touch to it.
Live My Life: A movie star meets his fan. While she gets a glimpse of the gritty realities behind the camera, he gets back in touch with the real world. Of course, they have to fall in love too. Where’s the fun otherwise?
The Khan Sisters: Two hot girls who have no qualms revealing their secret desires and showing off their figures. So what if Girlfriend didn’t work? Bring together Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra, have them do what they do best, and you don’t have to worry about empty theatres at all.
The Amazing Race: It hits all the key notes of a Bollywood film – great locations, romance, potential for comedy, emotional scenes and songs. With road trips being all the rage afterZindagi Na Milegi Dobara, you can’t deny it’s perfect.
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa: So many actors are aspiring to be item girls nowadays. Why not have all of them come together for a film with only item numbers? Add a wafer-thin plot to keep critics happy and call the entire film a musical!
Swayamvar: This one has loads of potential – especially if it’s a female who has to choose a spouse. It can have everything – love, sex, deception, broken hearts, sad songs and a happy ending where love will triumph. Isn’t that great?
